Reminder on riders registration Online registration for participating riders and staff members for the 2018 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships will be open between Monday 23 July and Sunday 5 August at 12:00 (CET), and can be done via the UCI Online Registration Service. Maximum quotas per nation and per race are available in the UCI Regulations – Part IX: World Championships (Art. 9.2.022). Reminder on delegation registration We would like to remind you that each National Federation participating in the 2018 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships must register every member of the delegation (excluding riders), using the Online Accreditation System, by Sunday, 5 August 2018 at 12:00 (CET). The same username and password must be used for both online registration systems. Team performance analysts A demarcated area is available for sports performance analysts’ video cameras, however the access to this area is limited. Teams wishing to use this space must book their positions before 15 July. There will be a fee for this service. Any ‘unlawful’ network will immediately be disconnected. Update – 2018-2019 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup – Quotas Quotas (SP, KE, OM, MA) The quotas for every round of the 2018-2019 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup will be drawn up and published on Friday 14th September 2018 at 12:00 (CET). All the registration deadlines for the different rounds can be found here. Attention: Article 3.4.005 – relating to the maximum number of riders and teams qualifying via the UCI Track Ranking – has been updated. From now on, for the Sprint and the Keirin, it is the corresponding UCI Individual Track Ranking that will be used to allocate the quotas (whilst respecting the maximum number per nation as stipulated in Art. 3.4.007bis). For the Madison, the UCI Nation Ranking will be used. For the Omnium, only one quota per nation is allocated, as follows: the first two-thirds of the quota is allocated via the UCI Nation Ranking, i.e. the first 16 nations in the ranking are allocated one quota. The final third of the quota is allocated via the UCI Individual Ranking, to nations who have not yet qualified via the UCI Nation Ranking; thus the final 8 quotas will be determined by the Individual Ranking (8 best individuals) – 1 rider per nation. You can find the full report on the UCI website. 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz The Competition Guide for the 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships presented by Mercedes-Benz taking place in Lenzerheide (SUI) has been published on the UCI website. In the Competition Guide, you will find all the useful information you might need if you want to attend the event. We remind the national federation about the UCI Nation’s forum which will take place on Tuesday 4 September after the Team Manager’s Meeting. The forum will take place at the Gemeindeschule Vaz/Obervaz (School/Multipurpose building), Voa Sporz 4, 7078 Lenzerheide, Switzerland (same place as team managers’ meeting). We request a maximum representation of two people per team to attend the UCI Nation’s forum. BMX Freestyle Park is explained in this video. 2018 UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup – Edmonton (CAN) : results All results available on the UCI website here. | | Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup: prize money The UCI Management Committee has approved two important changes with regards to the UCI Financial Obligations, both of which lead to equal prize money between men and women. Firstly, for prize money at races linked to the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup’s overall ranking – as paid by the UCI – the women’s allocation has been increased by €30,000, such that gender equality (€155,000 each) has been reached from 2018/2019 onwards. Secondly, with regards to prize money awarded to women by Cyclo-cross World Cup organisers, the amounts will increase progressively from 2019/2020, achieving parity with the men in 2021/2022. The UCI Financial Obligations have been published on the UCI website. Women Junior category In June 2017, the UCI Management Committee decided to create the Women Junior category, starting from the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Dübendorf (SUI) in February 2020. A year later, the UCI Management Committee has approved the creation of this Women Junior category for the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup, starting in the 2020/2021 season. This means that the Women Elite category in the World Cup will now be open to women aged 19 and above. Reform of the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup The UCI Management Committee has approved reform of the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup, which will consist of 12 rounds rather than the current nine. Organisers interested in joining the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup circuit are now invited to make themselves known to offroad@uci.ch. A candidates’ guide will be published shortly.

Reminder registration 2019 UCI Trials International Calendar We remind you that the deadline to send registration forms for the 2019 UCI Trials Calendar is July 27th 2018. All information related to the Calendar procedure was send in the Newsletter of April. | | 2018 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in Maniago (ITA) The 2018 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships will take place in Maniago (ITA) on 5-8 August. Maniago has already hosted rounds of the UCI World Cup in 2015 and 2017, and with the event having been enjoyed by all riders, there is no doubt that these Championships will be a success. The route will, however, be different this year, with a 13.6km loop for the time trial and road race. At time of writing, 360 riders from 46 countries have registered for the event. As part of the event, the organisers would like all teams (athletes and management) to participate in the nations’ parade, which will take place during the Opening Ceremony on 1 August, 17:00 CET, in Maniago’s Piazza Italia.
During this ceremony, a souvenir will be given to every participant. All nations are asked to make themselves known to the organisers upon their arrival. 2018 UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup in Baie Comeau (CAN) Online registration for riders and staff members for the final round of the 2018 UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup must be completed by Wednesday 25 July 2018 at 12:00 (CET), via the UCI Online Registration System.
Classification reminder: athletes taking part in this final round with a sport class status of either New or Review must submit a Medical Diagnostics Form (MDF) as least four weeks before the event begins. Athletes who fail to submit an MDF will not be classified, and therefore will not be able to take part. Classification – Research The first phase of tests, in line with the research organised by the UCI which aims to improve our classification system, took place during the second round of the 2018 UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup in Emmen (NED). Twenty-eight C class athletes and 18 H class took part in these tests, over the two days before the competition began. We would like to remind you that it is very important that athletes participate in this research, to enable us to have enough data to be able to improve our classification system. Results and measurements from the tests are anonymous, and have no influence on the current classification of riders and competitions. For more information, please familiarise yourselves with the attached flyer. | | 2018 UCI Artistic Cycling World Cup The second round of the series took place on 30 June in Heerlen (NED). Three reigning World Champions were in attendance to defend their World Cup leader’s jerseys: Milena Slupina (GER) – Single Women, Lukas Kohl (GER) – Single Men, and Serafin Schefold / Max Hanselmann (GER) – Mixed Pairs. Sophie Nattmann and Caroline Wurth (GER) also managed to retain their place at the top of the Pair Women ranking. The ACT4 team of RV Sirnach (SUI) lost their place at the top of the ranking to the Erlenbach-Öhringen (GER) team. In the overall rankings, noteworthy performances came from Martin Schön (HUN), who has risen to 3rd place in the Single Men category, and Fabienne Hammerschmidt / Lukas Burri (SUI), who are now 2nd in the Mixed Pairs. The results from Heerlen, as well as the current rankings, are available on the UCI website. The 3rd round will take place in Hong Kong on 12 August. You can visit the following website for more information about this event. 2018 UCI Cycle-ball World Cup The 4th round of the UCI Cycle-ball World Cup will take place in Hong Kong on 11 August, alongside the Artistic Cycling event. Ten teams from five countries (Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Germany and Switzerland) will take part; two European U23 teams will face the Asian teams, looking to earn precious UCI Ranking points.

UCI International Commissaires’ Seminar – Cycle-ball The International Cycle-ball Commissaires’ Seminar took place alongside the 35th Tournoi International de Sulz (AUT) on 30 June. Nine UCI International Commissaires from six countries put their skills into practice and improved their communication and interaction with the Panel during this Elite tournament. The seminar also looked to prepare Commissaires ahead of the UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships in Liège (BEL) next November. Game situations were studied using footage filmed during matches. Also at this event, a new refereeing system was tested, with two Commissaires on the ground. Athletes and trainers were both broadly in favour of this initiative, and further trials are planned shortly in different countries and competitions, based on the feedback gathered. | | 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships The 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, which will be held in Varese (ITA) on 29 August-2 September 2018, are quickly approaching. The final four qualification events took place during the weekend of 7-8 July, and all qualified athletes have now received a confirmation email comprising all details regarding registration and next steps. As communicated in the April NF newsletter, National Federations who did not host a qualifying event prior to the 2018 UCI Grand Fondo World Championships may apply for 10 wildcards to send their best male and female riders to the event (registration form). In addition, automatic qualification is also granted to Masters National Champions (registration form). We would like to thank all National Federations who have already provided us with their completed forms; all concerned athletes have duly been notified. If you still haven’t done so, please do not hesitate to send all details back to the UCI as soon as possible. The Sufferfest partnership
As communicated in the June NF newsletter, The Sufferfest is the Official Training App and Training Plan Supplier for the 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in 2018, providing athletes who qualify for the World Championships access to the full suite of training resources included in The Sufferfest Complete Training System, as well as dedicated training plans to help athletes prepare for the road race and time trial events. Replicating the programme applied at previous World Championships, the 2018 Gran Fondo World Championships in Varese will also host a team relay event on Friday 31 August at 18:30. This is not an official World Championship event, but an opportunity for athletes to participate in an exciting event with their teammates. The team relay is open to all athletes who are registered for the time trial and/or road race. All qualified athletes will be asked to register either individually or as a team, and all participating teams must be represented at the official team relay briefing by at least one rider on Friday 31August at 14:30. National Federations interested in entering a team are requested to submit all team information to info@ucigranfondoworldseries.com before Friday August 24. Further details, including the full programme of events, can also be found on the event website. | | | The UCI Gender Equality Charter At the Management Committee meeting held in Arzon (FRA) in June, members unanimously decided to adopt the Gender Equality Charter. After the significant sporting progress made over the past few years, the Management Committee acknowledged the work undertaken by the UCI administration in recent months to draw up and implement a Charter that aims to promote gender equality in cycling. The Charter is a global concept that allows gender equality to be advanced within cycling. This Charter contains policies that aim to promote this equality in different areas. The UCI wishes to put itself forward as an example of gender equality for all cycling stakeholders, whether it be National Federations, event organisers or professional teams. Two policies have already been approved by the UCI Management Committee, while other policies will be added to the Charter in the years to come. UCI Administration Policy The first concerns our internal administration. The UCI is committed to a policy of gender equality within its administration, especially through equal treatment of all employees, with a particular focus on recruitment and pay. This policy will be an integral part of our staff regulations. The objective is to guarantee equal, respectful and fair treatment for everyone, particularly in terms of recruitment, and to ensure that men and women are given the same professional opportunities. This Charter also includes the fundamental principles through which the UCI would like to implement equal pay. This policy is available here. UCI World Championships’ Awards Ceremonies Policy The second policy ensures gender equality at UCI World Championships. The UCI Management Committee approved several measures that aim to ensure gender equality during awards ceremonies. This policy also requires the outfits worn by hosts and hostesses to be approved in advance by the UCI, and there must be equal representation of men and women in this role. This policy will form part of the Organisational Guide for UCI World Championships, and will come into effect at the 2018 UCI Road World Championships in Innsbruck-Tirol (AUT). Focus Day The UCI Focus Day during the Youth Olympic Games will be held on the afternoon of 12th October. This will consist of a one-hour conference, held in the Olympic Village.
