It was a pleasure to meet with my UCI Management Committee colleagues in Valkenburg (the Netherlands) during the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. Our positive and constructive discussions led to some significant decisions being taken which will benefit our sport.
First of all, a “Support/TV” Commissaire will be appointed to each of the three Grand Tours, the five Monuments on the UCI WorldTour calendar and the UCI Road World Championships. This person will have access to TV images in order to follow the race live, providing support to the Commissaires out on the course.
In another initiative to increase rider safety, the time gap protocol for stages expected to finish in a bunch sprint will be extended from one second to three seconds for all races on the UCI International Calendar. As you will remember, this initiative was trialled at the Tour de Suisse and Tour de France last year. The decision on whether to activate the protocol will be made on a case-by-case basis depending on the profile of the stage, the level of the teams and the number of riders.
The Management Committee also approved our proposals to strengthen the fight against technological fraud – details will be revealed at a press conference on March 21st – and to integrate e-mountain bike into the UCI.
I take this opportunity to congratulate Amina Lanaya for her appointment as UCI Director General, which was ratified by the Management Committee in Valkenburg.
More details of the Management Committee meeting, including the allocation of four UCI World Championships and the approval of international calendars for different disciplines, can be found in the press release we sent out after the meeting.
In closing, I would like to urge our Continental Confederations to send through a regular update of activities in their respective regions, including initiatives being undertaken by different National Federations. If we are aware of ongoing activities on your continent, these could provide interesting material for the “Spotlight” section at the end of this newsletter. We remind National Federations to consult their dedicated Extranet on a regular basis. Besides the possibility to register their events on the international calendar or their athletes for different UCI events, the Extranet provides access to numerous administrative and practical documents. A former cross-country skier and also a cross-country mountain bike specialist, the Czech rider has appeared at five Olympic Games (two Winter and three Summer). She has won two UCI Cyclo-cross World Championship bronze medals, in 2011 and 2017, as well as one silver (2016) and two bronze (2010 and 2014) in the team relay at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships. She also has a degree in business.
It was also decided that the concept of making the President of the Athletes’ Commission a full member of the Management Committee, thus offering the athletes’ representatives the same rights as all other members, be put to a vote at the UCI Congress in Innsbruck-Tyrol (Austria).
UCI President David Lappartient said: “I am very pleased to welcome Katerina Nash – the first female President of the UCI Athletes’ Commission – and I am very proud that she has joined the Management Committee. I hope that the next Congress will see her accepted as a full member.”
The UCI Management Committee also ratified the appointment of Ms Amina Lanaya as UCI Director General.
By taking this decision, the Management Committee confirmed its desire to ensure stability within the UCI administration by appointing an individual who is known for her experience in the Federation, her expertise and knowledge of cycling, which are already recognised both within the UCI and more widely among the cycling family.UCI Director General Amina Lanaya declared: “It is an honour for me to be appointed UCI Director General. I would like to thank our President, the Management Committee and the entire cycling family for the confidence they have placed in me. You can count on me to lead the UCI administration and to serve you all with my full commitment.”
E-Bike Integration to the UCI
The adoption of e-bikes by members of the cycling community continues to grow, and the UCI has started developing the integration of this type of racing to the sport. Immediately following his election to the UCI presidency, David Lappartient confirmed to the International Federation of Motorcycling (FIM) his intention to take under his leadership the management of all related eBike activities See attached correspondence.To commence the project, the UCI Management Committee has agreed to the development of necessary regulations to allow racing to be sanctioned in the discipline of Mountain Bike. The UCI staff will engage with National Federations and the cycle industry to create a clear framework during 2018, ahead of introducing regulations for 2019.
UCI DataRide – License renewals 2018
Almost all Federations have now renewed some of their 2018 license holders in the UCI DataRide system but we are still missing many riders. Please note that after 31 March, any riders whose license information has not been transmitted to UCI DataRide will not be credited with ranking points in the system.According to UCI regulations, all license holders should provide an email address on their license application and as part of the conditions of holding a license, they accept that this information should be transmitted to the UCI. Please ensure that this information is transmitted since it may form the basis for official communications or updates. The UCI has already authorized legal expertise to ensure the confidentiality of UCI operations data and to ensure that our systems comply with Swiss, EU and International Data Protection regulations.

2018 UCI Congress
Save the date
The 2018 UCI Congress will take place on 28th September in Innsbruck (Austria) on the occasion of the 2018 UCI Road World Championships. More information will be shared in due course.SPORTSROADRegulation changes
The UCI Management Committee meeting of 3rd February approved several regulation changes; these have been published on the Regulations page of the UCI website. The main amendments cover the following topics:
1.1.028 – Format of Licenses
The UCI regulations no longer require different coloured licenses depending on the year of issue/renewal; this change has been made in response to requests from Federations and to help reduce cost for the Federations. Note that the license year must nonetheless feature prominently on the license. For the 2019 renewals, the UCI will provide further guidance on license format;1.2.006 – The deadline for applications to be included on the International Road Calendar has been changed to July 1st each year;
1.3.057 – Advertising spaces on national riders’ equipment has been updated with regards to positioning on the jersey/shorts and dimensions of the different spaces. The 2018 UCI jersey guidelines document has been updated accordingly;
1.2.116 / 1.2.119 / 1.2.120 / 1.2.121 / 2.2.022bis – These articles shape the planned activities of “support-commissaires”, who will be present at certain events on the UCI WorldTour in 2018. The “support-commissaires” will support the work done by the Commissaires’ Panel, particularly through having access to live TV pictures;
Finally, stage race organisers may, if they wish, apply a special regulation for stages expected to finish in bunch sprints, taking into account the profile of the stage and the number of riders/teams – in accordance with the protocol published on the Regulations page.
2018 UCI Road World Championships
Qualification system
The qualification system for the 2018 UCI Road World Championships has now been published on the UCI website.The most important changes from the 2017 system are as follows:
Road Race – Elite Men: The maximum quota per team is set at 8 riders (instead of 9) for the top 10 nations in the UCI Nations Rankings.
Road Race – Men Junior: The quota for nations that have not qualified through the UCI Men Junior Nations’ Cup is set at 2 riders (instead of 3).
REMINDER: Participation regulations and obligation to declare affiliated teams and shared main sponsors/paying agents/team representatives
We would like to remind you that Article 2.2.001 of the UCI Regulations forbids teams with a shared pay agent or main partner from competing in the same event.Similarly, a UCI WorldTeam or UCI Professional Continental Team may not compete in the same race as one of its registered development teams.
The UCI has updated the relevant table to clarify the links between teams.
On the same subject, an amendment to the regulations was made on 25th October 2017, requiring National Federations to declare to the UCI all affiliated club teams which have the same paying agent, team representative or main partner as a UCI team.
In order to help with implementation, we would ask all National Federations who haven’t yet done so to please submit this information as soon as possible to road@uci.ch, and to provide any relevant updates immediately throughout the year.
Registration of UCI teams
At the close of the registration procedure for UCI teams, we have 264 registered teams across all categories for the 2018 season.
UCI WorldTeams: 18 (10 EUR / 3 AME / 3 ASI / 1 AFR / 1 OCE)
UCI Professional Continental Teams: 27 (21 EUR / 6 AME)
UCI Continental Teams: 173 (89 EUR / 48 ASI / 26 AME / 8 OCE / 2 AFR)
UCI Women’s Teams: 46 (34 EUR / 8 AME / 3 ASI / 1 OCE)
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all National Federations and teams for their co-operation and support in this process.Sport Director course
The 2017 UCI Sport Director training programme has now ended for the 49 candidates.Following its conclusion, 42 Sport Directors have been certified by the UCI, and are now eligible to join a UCI WorldTeam or UCI Professional Continental Team, in accordance with Article 1.1.077.
The next programme is scheduled for November. All the details about this programme are available on the UCI World Cycling Centre website.
2019 Financial Obligations – Events
The Road Financial Obligations for events during the 2019 season (all events except those on the UCI WorldTour) have now been published on the UCI website.Any amendments relate to the Elite Women and Junior Women categories only, namely:
Prize Money
Annual increase of 10% – over the next three years – for all Elite Women events
Equality of prize money for one-day events in the UCI Junior Men and UCI Junior Women Nations’ Cups (prize money for stage events is already equal)
Participation allowances
For one-day events on the UCI Women’s WorldTour:
The allowance per rider increases from 200 € to 250 €
The allowance per technical staff member increases from 65 € to 100 €
The option for UCI Women’s WorldTour one-day events to cover either the participation allowance or accommodation has been removed. From 2019, organisers are obliged to pay the participation allowance.The minimum number of technical staff to be covered by the organiser has increased from 3 to 4 for UCI Women’s WorldTour events.
Therefore, from 2019, organisers of UCI Women’s WorldTour one-day races must pay participation allowances for at least 4 staff members, and organisers of UCI Women’s WorldTour stage races must cover accommodation for at least 4 staff members.
2019 UCI Women’s WorldTour calendar
The registration procedure for the 2019 UCI Women’s WorldTour calendar is now open.Registration forms have been sent to existing organisers.
Organisers seeking to submit an application must refer to the UCI Women’s WorldTour candidates’ guide.
Application forms and registration forms must be returned to the UCI, via the National Federations, by 15th March 2018.

Unused quotas
We would ask National Federations to the inform the UCI (via track@uci.ch) as soon as possible if they do not wish to take up their quotas, so that we may inform the reserve nations.Staff accreditation
We would like to remind each participating Federation that they must register all members of the delegation, using the Online Accreditation System.The same login/password should be used for both online systems.
The number of accreditations available will depend on the number of athletes participating in the World Championships. However, each nation may have no more than 29 accreditations. More information can be found in the Competition Guide, which is available here.
Nations’ ForumThe UCI is delighted to be hosting, alongside the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships presented by Tissot, a Nations’ Forum on Tuesday 27th February, 19:00-20:00 (CET), at the Omnisport Velodrome (Business Lounge, 3rd floor).
This first forum for national technical staff will be an opportunity to discuss the upcoming seasons, as well as to answer any questions regarding the regulations coming into effect during the 2018 World Championships. This forum will be held in the presence of the members of the Track Commission, chaired by UCI Vice-President Renato Di Rocco.
For logistical reasons, participation will be limited to two representatives per nation.

Events may still be added to the calendar, however a late registration fee may be payable. The procedure and all relevant forms can be found on the UCI Extranet.

Quotas for the 2018/2019 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup will be drawn up and published on 14th September 2018 at 12:00 (CET). These will be based on the UCI Rankings as stipulated in Article 3.4.005, as amended on 5th March 2018.UCI Regulations – Part III: Track Races – in effect from 5th March 2018Some regulation changes will come into effect on 5th March 2018. The changes can be found here.
The full, updated Part of the Regulations will be published on 5th March.
Next Commission meetingThe next meeting of the Track Commission will take place on 1st-2nd March 2018 in Apeldoorn, alongside the UCI Track Cycling World Championships presented by Tissot. Members of this new commission – formed in October 2017 – will have the opportunity to meet for the first time and discuss several important topics concerning the development of track cycling.
As mentioned above, most members of the Commission will also be in attendance at the Nations’ Forum on 27th February.

1st round – Stellenbosch – Water restriction
Please find below a note from the Stellenbosch LOCThe Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Stellenbosch has put plans in place to ensure that the event will go ahead on 10th March with zero impact on the water supply of the drought-stricken town.
Events such as the World Cup attract tourism, which is vital to the economy of the region, and while there have been restrictions of 50 litres of water per person per day, this is adequate for the essential needs of drinking, washing and toiletries. While tap water is drinkable, officials are encouraging the purchase of bottle water, which is sourced from outside water-scarce areas.
We are working closely with our sponsors, partners and service providers to ensure every responsible measure is in place to conserve water without compromising the rider experience and safety at the race. Riders will need to be conscious of their water usage and each participant should use a maximum of 50 litres of water per day in accordance with the level 6B water restrictions.
We are pleased to announce that no water will be drawn from the Stellenbosch municipal supply, while a limited amount of non-potable water drawn from a dam on the University of Stellenbosch grounds will be used to maintain the course.
Certain sections of the World Cup course at Coetzenburg will be closed to the public until after the event to save water needed for maintenance and to repair damage caused by dryness. This will see a change in the popular Scott bicycle competition. Fans entered by taking pictures of themselves on these technical sections. A new format will be announced shortly via Scott and Epic World Cup social media pages. The organisers apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The restrictions on water usage for the World Cup include:
Team bikes to be washed with non-potable water provided in five-litre buckets (two bikes to be washed per bucket).
No showers at the venue.
Drinking water for the official teams to be sourced from outside the Western Cape.
Teams, vendors, contractors, suppliers and activation crews will make provision for their own potable water.
All food will be prepared off-site, using no potable water for preparation or cleaning.
Bottled water will be supplied to event crew and the medical centre.
The Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Stellenbosch and the Western Cape are open for business despite the drought. We are looking forward to putting on a world-class event and advertisement for the region.Glyn Broomberg

Cauberg, the famous cycling region of Limburg, hosted the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships on 3rd-4th February 2018. The competition took place in the bitter cold on a spectacular circuit of 2 km 900 including a combination of slippery off camber-sections and multiple running sections with lots of elevation. The event was extremely well organized and attracted a very large audience – nearly 40’000 enthusiastic spectators who witnessed the 23 year old Belgian, Wout van Aert, win his third consecutive world title in the Men Elite category , and the second in a row for his fellow countrywoman Sanne Cant, aged 27, in the Women Elite category.The 2018 World Champions are:

Important: Regulation Changes as from 1st February 2018
The UCI Regulations for Para-cycling, Chapters IV and V, have been amended as from 1stFebruary 2018. The UCI invites the entire para-cycling family to read through the full ‘Part XVI: Para-cycling – Rules amendments in force on 01.02.2018’ document, which is available here.

These amendments have been made to ensure consistency with the 2015 IPC Athlete Classification Code and accompanying standards, as well as to provide a clearer set of rules for the Nations. As you probably already know, the 2018 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships will take place on 22nd-25th March 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We would like to remind you that the registration system closes on 28th February 2018. The next meeting of the Para-cycling Commission will take place on 26th March 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, just after the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships. Additional event
During its last meeting, the UCI Management Committee approved the addition of one round to the World Cup calendar. This event will be held on 26th May in Beringen (BEL) and, amongst other benefits, will provide an opportunity to promote the discipline ahead of the World Championships taking place in Liège in November.Team registration

2018 UCI Artistic Cycling World Cup
The launch of the first-ever World Cup season took place on 10th February in Prague (CZE), with 45 athletes from eight countries taking part. It is also worth noting that all reigning World Champions were in attendance at this inaugural event. The leaders of each category are:

2019 UCI Gran Fondo World Series – Calendar procedure
The 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Series is in full swing, and the UCI is also looking ahead to 2019 to keep growing the series and the exposure for amateur mass participation cycling events. Giving amateur riders the chance to win a coveted UCI rainbow jersey, they are also an opportunity to promote tourism and cycling development in regions around the world. National Federations are thus encouraged to contact the UCI with proposals for new events which could join the series next year.As in 2017, the candidature deadline for the 2019 Gran Fondo World Series is set for 31st March 2018. This will allow for the full calendar to be approved by the UCI Management Committee at its meeting in June 2018. The respective events can therefore benefit from maximum exposure before the 2019 season begins and generate more interest and commitment from riders and fans.

EQUIPMENT
National Federations are reminded that during Track events, and in particular at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships presented by Tissot, the Commissaires will strictly apply the following articles:
1.3.002: “The UCI shall not be liable for any consequences deriving from the choice of the equipment used by licence holders, nor for any defects it may have or its noncompliance. Equipment used must meet applicable official quality and safety standards. A licence holder is not authorised to modify, in any way, the equipment given by the manufacturer used in competition.”
Thus, any form of addition, including the addition of foam on the elbow support, will be strictly prohibited.1.3.023: “For road time trials and individual and team pursuit on the track, a fixed extension may be added to the steering system; in this instance, the height difference between the elbow support points and the highest and lowest points of the handlebar extension (including gear levers) must be less than 10 cm.”
Please note that as intended in the spirit of the regulation, and as explained in the “Clarification Guide of the UCI Technical Regulation”, the 10cm measurement will be taken from a horizontal perspective of the elbow support. Thus, if the elbow support is tilted, the jig used to measure the difference in height between the elbow support points and the highest or lowest points of the extension (including levers) will be placed in the middle of the elbow rests.

As part of the trial phase for disc brakes during road races, the UCI Management Committee has decided to extend this trial to all events registered on the UCI international calendar, except the Junior events. For road events registered on the national calendar, the decision to permit or forbid disc brakes is at the discretion of National Federations; this includes the National Road Championships.

Cycling celebrations in Dutch UCI Bike Regions
The start of 2018 has been busy for several of our UCI Bike Regions in the Netherlands, striving to promote cycling in all forms.On 30thJanuary, Drenthe hosted a first-year UCI Bike Region label anniversary celebration. It included visits to the province’s landmark projects, presentations by individuals and organizations involved in delivering ambitious cycling projects, as well as a festive party celebrating the region’s top cycling talents. Its objective was to unite all stakeholders involved in the region’s cycling projects, inform the public of the progress made, and celebrate the projects and people which help ensure cycling in all forms continues to grow throughout the region. Later this month, the 2018 UCI Track World Championships will be hosted in town of Apeldoorn, in the UCI Bike Region of Gelderland. Ahead of the championships, and since October 2017, the province has been delivering a number of cycling experience activities through the ‘Road to Apeldoorn’ programme. During the month of February, a ‘Talents in the classroom’ programme will see ten local schools receive a visit from a professional track cyclist and participate in a bicycle clinic.
During the Championships, several side events be organised within Omnisport Apeldoorn and the town centre, bringing together riders and visitors alike. A daily Omnisport Experience Area will feature medal ceremonies, ‘meet and greets’ with various riders, autograph sessions, press conferences giving spectators the floor, as well as 13 different sports activities for the public.
Gelderland is also working to enhance the links between partners and stakeholders in the worlds of cycling and government. Meetings have been held with organising parties for the BMX World Cup in Papendal, the Para-cycling Track World Championships, Boels Ladies Tour and the cycling federation of the Netherlands, the KNWU. Local sports clubs and local government will also meet to discuss the strategy to increase local initiatives promoting sports in the province and strengthen Gelderland as a UCI Bike Region.

SPORTLIGHT ON…JAMAICA
Jamaicans love cycling. Jamaicans love sports in general. They like to win, and they don’t give up.
These words come from the Jamaican Cycling Federation (JCF) President Joylene Griffiths, who is determined to see Jamaica’s prowess in other sports, such as athletics, transfer through to cycling.
Since being elected President of the JCF in November 2017, Ms Griffiths has been on a two-month journey that she describes as “hectic, exciting, inspirational and enlightening.”
She has set herself an overwhelming list of priorities that include strengthening the Federation’s administrative effectiveness, continuing the dialogue with the government to build a new velodrome, creating a calendar of local and international events, talking with potential sponsors, introducing cycling into the school curriculum and ensuring the presence of a Jamaican cyclist at the next Commonwealth Games (Gold Coast, Australia, in April).
The new President is aiming high but is optimistic for the sport both at Elite and recreational levels. She says Jamaica has talented cyclists who just need the necessary support to realise their potential. The country has nine cycling clubs, and at weekends it is common to see groups of cyclists out riding from Kingston to Port Royal and in Montego Bay.
She believes the key to growing the sport lies in introducing cycling to Jamaicans at a young age.
Introducing cycling to schools
“My burning desire for cycling in Jamaica is to establish the youth programme,” says the JCF President who, even before becoming involved in cycling administration, had already been instrumental in organising Youth Development Summer Camps a few years back. These not only enabled inner-city children to learn to ride but also taught them the basics of bike mechanics, hygiene, hydration and road safety.Since her election as JCF President, she has had meetings with school principals and students to share her ideas.
“My vision is to incorporate cycling into schools and organise a national championship for the schools similar to that for track and field. This is the approach that has made track and field so successful for Jamaica,” she says.
“This way we will discover new talent, fuel the love and excitement for the sport and regain the fan support and the much-needed sponsorship.”
Leading by example
To boost cycling among women, Ms Griffiths looks to the example set by Cycling Australia, which as well as accompanying elite-level riders to the top of the sport, also encourages women to ride for their health and for pleasure. She has pledged to lead by example and get back on her own bike.“Jamaica is currently riding a wave of physical activity awareness, so it is a great time to introduce any new activity that gets people moving. A women’s cycling programme would be welcomed by our Ministry of Health, which is spearheading an initiative called `Jamaica Moves’.”
New velodrome a priority
A recurring topic when talking cycling with Ms Griffiths is the need for a new velodrome in Jamaica. Although there is a velodrome at the national stadium in Kingston, athletics meetings, football matches and national celebrations organised at the complex take priority over cycling. For example, February is the month dedicated to athletic championships, which means the velodrome, which in any case is scheduled to be removed, lies unused.“A new velodrome could dramatically launch cycling into a new age,” says Ms Griffiths. “We would be able to host regional events, improve track training, host more development events and attract sponsors.”
As she lobbies the government for a new velodrome, she can count on the support of, and close collaboration with, the Jamaican Olympic Association (JOA), which has a dedicated director for cycling. Cycling is the only sport outside track and field that has ever won an Olympic medal for Jamaica (David Weller in the 1km time trial in 1980 at Moscow) and the JOA and JCF intend to see more cycling medals in the future.
“Jamaica has a good chance of gaining a medal at the World Championships and the Olympics,” predicts Ms Griffiths. “We have the raw talent and the drive. We just need the financial backing. Cycling has never had a large sponsor, so it is time to forge bigger partnerships.”
Track cyclist Oshane Williams, 22, is the country’s rising star and Jamaica’s hope for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. He is clearly a cut above the rest on the domestic scene but has yet to measure up against the best from abroad.
“It will be his first and largest international event. He still has a long way to go but he has a hunger to succeed. A good showing at the Commonwealth Games will help rebuild the sport in Jamaica.
“I ran for President of the Jamaica Cycling Federation because I want to give Jamaica the opportunity to sing the national anthem not just for athletics but also for cycling.”
Her parting words, taken from the song, ‘Bad Card’ written by Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter Bob Marley, ring out almost like a warning: “Them a-go tired to see we face, Me say them can’t get we out of the race.”
UCI WCC CORNER
Objective Tokyo 2020: off-road training camps to start in March
Young talents in two of cycling’s off-road Olympic disciplines will begin their Tokyo 2020 campaigns in earnest next month. Long-term high-level camps for BMX Racing and mountain bike get under way at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland, at the beginning of March.
BMX Racing training camp
The majority of the 14 BMX athletes, who come from 13 different countries and four continents, will be based in Aigle until the end of June. Most are already familiar with the UCI WCC, having participated in at least one of the centre’s Talent Identification camps held in the last two years.Aged between 16 and 19, these Junior riders have been invited back to begin the build-up and qualification process for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The major goal this year will be the 2018 UCI BMX World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan (June 5-9), and they will also gain valuable race experience at competitions in Europe. All going to plan, they will return to the UCI WCC every year to train and race.
The young athletes will be guided by one of the world’s best, Liam Phillips, who has joined the UCI WCC as BMX Racing coach. Forced to retire from competition last year due to injury, the British former UCI World Champion (2013) and three-time Olympian, will put his vast experience and knowledge to the benefit of the UCI WCC trainees. Some have already tasted success on the international scene, not least Latvian Vineta Petersone, already a UCI WCC trainee last year, who finished third on the Junior podium of the 2017 UCI BMX World Championships.
Mountain bike training camp
At the same time as the BMX riders, two mountain bike specialists from Africa are also due to arrive in Aigle.Lesotho’s Tumelo Makae and Botwsana’s Matshediso Ebudilwe are funded jointly by the UCI WCC and Olympic Solidarity to attend this camp.
At 21 years of age Makae, a member of the Lesotho-based Sufferfest African Dream Team, enjoyed considerable success last year, winning the Lesotho National Championships (Men Elite) and coming second in the African Mountain Bike Continental Championships Under-23 race.
Ebudilwe, 21, is Botswana’s highest-ranked woman cyclist. With a strong background in road racing, she is also developing her mountain bike skills and has joined Makae on the the Sufferfest African Dream Team.
These two athletes, who are on Olympic Solidarity scholarships up until the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be joined at the UCI WCC by another six mountain bike athletes in the coming weeks and months.
